The ultra-fast-drying protective coating allows for quick recoating after just 2 hours, and it can be easily cleaned up with just soap and water. This protective wood topcoat not only safeguards the wood's natural beauty but also offers an attractive, classic sheen for a modern and subtle look. It's important to note that the Minwax Polycrylic Protective Wood Finish may appear slightly milky upon opening, but it applies and dries to a crystal clear protective finish that lasts.

To ensure the best results, the surface must be dry and free of wax, grease, polish, or any other foreign matter or old finishes in poor condition. The surface should be sanded to a smooth, uniform finish, and any dust should be removed with a damp cloth. If desired, a Minwax Water Based Wood Stain or Minwax Wood Finish stain can be applied to the bare wood surfaces, following the label directions. It's recommended to wait at least 24 hours before applying the Polycrylic Finish over the Minwax Wood Finish Stain. The Polycrylic Finish can also be applied directly to bare wood.

Before and during use, the Polycrylic Finish should be stirred well, but not shaken. A thin coat should be applied using a high-quality synthetic bristle brush, following the direction of the wood grain. After the first coat has dried for at least 2 hours, the surface should be lightly sanded with fine sandpaper (220 grit) to ensure an even finish and proper adhesion of additional coats. The dust should then be removed, and a second coat can be applied. For additional coats, the same sanding and cleaning process should be repeated before applying the next coat. Three coats are recommended for optimal protection and finish.

After the final coat has been applied, the surface should be allowed to dry for at least 3 hours before light handling and 24 hours before normal use.
